With the pending STCW Manilla Amendments going into effect, a solution was needed to track mariners rest hours on board our rigs. Using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) this spreadsheet was automated to input work/rest hours based upon user input Hitch Length (14, 21 or 28 days) and work periods. This provided the vessel with a streamlined process to ensure compliance with the new requirements in a manner that didn't create a time or administrative burden.
